Lid pasteurization Twist Off 70 Deep is a 70 mm diameter twist-off closure compatible with all standard glass jars using the same Twist Off thread — including cylindrical, hexagonal, square and deep-body formats. It is the EU food-production standard for preserves, sauces and pickles.

Twist Off sterilisation lids are rated for water-bath pasteurisation at 100 °C and retort sterilisation up to 121 °C with controlled pressure ramps. The inner PVC-free or plastisol sealing compound creates a hermetic vacuum on cooling that is visible as the concave lid button.

You can check this by placing a ruler on top of the lid: when the lid is new, it lies flush against the ruler, but once the vacuum has been created, there is a slight gap.
