Lid Pasteurization Twist Off 38

Lid Sterilisation Twist Off 38 is a 38 mm diameter twist-off closure compatible with all standard glass jars using the same Twist Off thread — including cylindrical, hexagonal, square and deep-body formats. It is the EU food-production standard for preserves, sauces and pickles.

Twist Off sterilisation lids are rated for water-bath pasteurisation at 100 °C and retort sterilisation up to 121 °C with controlled pressure ramps. The inner PVC-free or plastisol sealing compound creates a hermetic vacuum on cooling that is visible as the concave lid button.

A correctly sealed lid has a concave (inward) centre button that does not flex when pressed. Any lid with a convex or flexible button has failed to seal and must be reprocessed or discarded. The audible 'pop' on opening confirms vacuum integrity.

Lid Sterilisation Twist Off 38 is available in gold, white, black and silver finishes. Printed lids (with logo, fruit motif or text) can be ordered in larger volumes.
